Green Adventure in Kenya – A Transformative 6-Month Journey
In 2024, Behind the Greens embarked on an ambitious journey—Green Adventure in Kenya—a six-month initiative focused on amplifying environmental voices, supporting grassroots conservation projects, and equipping changemakers with the tools they need to make a lasting impact. This project took place in Kilifi, Mombasa, Nairobi, and Tsavo, where we worked closely with environmental leaders, community-driven initiatives, and local organizations to elevate their storytelling and digital presence.
What We Did & What Went Down in Kenya
For six months, our team hosted 32 workshops and mentorship sessions, both in-person and online, reaching over 300 Greenfluencers and environmental advocates. Through this hands-on approach, we empowered individuals and organizations to refine their storytelling, strengthen their social media impact, and connect with new audiences.
Key Collaborations & Achievements
🌊 Ocean Mamas – A collective of women protecting the ocean while finding ways to sustain their families. We helped them develop engaging social media strategies to attract volunteers and community support.
🩴 Ocean Sole – A social enterprise turning discarded flip-flops into colorful sculptures. Our digital strategy workshops helped them showcase their creative process, leading to increased brand partnerships and sales.
🌿 Wildlife Conservation Projects – We collaborated with organizations in Tsavo National Park and Mombasa, supporting efforts in anti-poaching campaigns, community-led conservation programs, and wildlife rehabilitation storytelling.
